Gannett’s People Team is seeking a Benefits Analystto join our growing Benefits team at our corporate headquarters. This role will support our dynamic benefits program, specifically in the area of retirement plans. The role is based in Tyson’s Corner, VA and reports to the Manager, Retirement Plans.
Responsibilities:
• Assists with the implementation and ongoing delivery of corporate retirement plans, including both pension and 401(k) plans as well as nonqualified executive retirement plans
• Works with third party vendors and consultants to coordinate services and monitor performance
• Provides proactive customer service support to internal and external customers
• Responds directly to Tier I and Tier II requests and elevates complex requests as appropriate
• Interprets plan procedures and benefit policies
Serves as first line contact with vendors on plan administration and invoicing
• Works directly with vendors on quality control of any eligibility files and recordkeeping systems
• Prepares regular benefit reports, timely and accurate monthly billings, invoices, and required filings
• Reviews claims, inquiries and retirement calculations and ensures appropriate resolution for employee and compliance with policy
• Maintains and produces benefit reports
• Assists with updates and maintenance of internal SOPs and knowledge library documents and materials
• Assists with regular audits to monitor accuracy and performance. Suggests process improvements to enhance benefit administration
• Performs administrative duties such as documenting processes and procedures, maintaining employee benefit files and ensuring benefit-related payroll records are accurate and up to date
• Collaborates early and often
• Builds open and honest relationships with peers and business clients
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 3-6 years of experience in Human Resources, including strong background in Benefits and Employee Communications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
• Must be a self-starter and comfortable in an energetic, fast-paced environment
