DESCRIPTION:
The Brand Manager will develop and execute integrated marketing plans for some of Simon & Schuster’s key front list properties, with emphasis on middle grade and teen. This cross-functional role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and communicate brand strategies. This position reports directly to the VP, Director of Marketing & Publicity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with marketing and publicity team to brainstorm, develop, and execute trade and consumer marketing plans for front list titles.
-Develops and supervises plans for key titles/series each season to grow existing fan base and develop new audiences
• Ensures that all messaging and positioning is consistent and customized to reach target demographics
• Manages projects independently, follows up with key stakeholders, and acts as liaison with authors and illustrators, internal departments, and external vendors and partners
• Manages brand websites with emphasis on maximizing content and offerings
• Writes marketing and advertising copy, develops content and messaging, and provides design direction for marketing materials.
• Creates presentation materials for accounts, authors/illustrators, agents, and potential marketing partners
• Identifies and pursues outside partnerships for cross-marketing opportunities that drive brand awareness and build audience.
• Coordinates outside resources and vendors; brings projects to completion and tracks progress and expenses throughout each campaign
QUALIFICATIONS:
'- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing; publishing and digital experience a plus
• Ability to understand the big picture while executing plans and processes
• Creative, collaborative and team player
• Ability to manage projects independently
