Human Resources Manager - West Coast Studio Operations

Responsibilities
Role Purpose
We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to provide Human Resource support for 350+ multi-function employees within NBC Universal’s West Coast Studio Operations organization, within the Operations & Technical Services Division (O&TS) in Universal City, California.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
Provide broad HR support for assigned businesses, participate in and lead division and corporate HR initiatives
Drive strategic HR-related planning, organization design & integration, staffing, compensation, manager coaching, employee development, compliance and performance management
Provide HR leadership to employees and managers regarding employee relations issues for represented and non-represented workforce, and assume leadership role in resolving employee relations issues and associated leadership coaching
Work to resolve employee and organizational issues in a proactive and positive manner
Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and individual employees that further the mission, values, and strategic vision of the business
Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate
Manage staffing process, working with clients and talent acquisition partners to identify recruitment strategies as well as ensure diverse candidates slates and top quality candidate selection
Work closely and partner with several HR leaders to ensure consistent HR practices across West Coast Studio Operations and O&TS
Partner with business clients on employee engagement strategies and initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree (preferably in Human Resources or related field of study)
Minimum 5 years relevant HR experience including talent acquisition, employee relations, training & development, compliance and compensation

Desired Characteristics
Masters degree in HR, Labor Relations, or related field
Strong business acumen, analytical and project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
Excellent presentation skills
Strong client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups
Demonstrated coaching/mentoring/leadership skills; change agent; results orientation; high energy; comfortable handling multiple tasks and competing priorities
Strong employee-relations skill set; can earn trust and credibility with employees in assigned groups
Previous experience with a union workforce
Demonstrated ability to translate 'big picture' business strategy into an HR plan which can be executed
Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
Previous experience in cable, television or entertainment industry
