Responsibilities
Are you interested in cutting edge technologies? Are you looking to help build the future of TV? As part of the NBC Graphics Engineering Department, you will have the opportunity to integrate new and exciting tech into our television control rooms and studios. We support all the on-air graphics systems for the TODAY Show, Nightly News, MSNBC, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers and even SNL! We work with real-time graphics systems, interactive displays, and augmented reality.
• Provide technical expertise for new graphics system installations
• Assist in engineering workflows for new technologies including GPU virtualization and video over IP
• Perform system level troubleshooting of technical facilities, including (but not limited to) graphics design systems, servers, control rooms, and applications
• Work closely with other teams on critical projects and productions with tight on-air deadlines
• Provide 24/7 L2 support and maintenance for on-air graphics systems
• Create RFPs, SOPs, project schedules, workflow drawings, troubleshooting guides, training documentation, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Media Communications or similar
• Strong knowledge of broadcast TV systems and equipment
• Strong background in IT including network and storage infrastructure
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to support 24/7 on-air graphics systems in live control rooms
• Available and willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
