The Barnes & Noble Summer Internship program is designed to provide students with the exciting opportunity to apply their education in a “real-life” professional setting, while gaining valuable industry experience and transferable skills. This will be a paid 10 week program, in which Interns will partner with Mentors on accomplishing impactful company projects. The program will begin on June 5th and end on August 11th.
Position Responsibilities:
• Maintains warehouse Standard Operating Procedures
• Performs time studies
• Develops labor standards for different processes in the warehouse
• Observes, defines, and presents additional way to increase productivity and streamline processes during observations made during duration of the internship
Position Requirements:
• Students must have HS Diploma or GED and must be enrolled as at least rising Junior in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program, or enrolled in an accredited Master’s degree program
• Must be available to work a 40 hour workweek, Monday through Friday
• Education in an Engineering discipline, preferably Industrial or Mechanical
• Strong organization, time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, independent-decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented
• Experienced in Microsoft Office
What You Will Learn:
• How to structure and write a Standard Operating Procedure document.
• How to use, create and conduct time studies on a time study software.
• How to analyze time study data to develop labor standards and implement into a Labor Management Software.
