Context:
As the European gatekeeper of the Olympic Media Rights between 2018 and 2024, Eurosport has sub-licensed the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 to free-to-air broadcasters across a multiple number of countries in Europe. These sub-licensees are Eurosport’s “Olympic Media Clients”. Activation of their rights includes: exploitation of the “Olympic Brand Properties” (brands, logos and emblems), use of Olympic archives, production of Olympic programmes and sales of advertising and sponsorship. Such activations must follow strict and complex guidelines issued by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Eurosport is responsible for the management, training and review process for all rights activations developed by its Olympic Media Clients.
Responsibilities:
Before and during the Games, the candidate is responsible for:
• Filtering all submitted projects subject to IOC guidelines. This includes the appropriate use of Olympic brands for communications, marketing and promotional activities for any media;
• Reviewing these projects with the sub-licensees to maximise chances to get IOC approval;
• Processing final submission to the IOC and managing with sub-licensees potential adjustment requests from the IOC.
The Rights Activation Coordinator must be client-servicing oriented and build efficient relationship with the broadcasters.
Requirements:
• Business school diploma or University degree
• Fluency in both English and French is required
• Candidate must be extremely well organized and rigorous (attention to detail) to manage incoming flow of submissions from all Media Clients
• Candidate must also have good diplomatic skills to balance client’s expectations with IOC’s rules and guidelines.
