DESCRIPTION:
The Infrastructure Project Manager will be accountable for the successful execution and delivery of project across the portfolio for Enterprise Technology Services. They will manage internal and external resources, scope, schedule, financials, budgets, contracts, and adhere to stage gate quality and control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This role also includes managing issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery of systems with complex business and technical requirements.
The position is responsible for leading project team(s) (e.g., infrastructure, business users, outsourced providers, database, legal, sourcing, etc.) to deliver multiple, simultaneous projects and/or significant major projects/programs that could span across several business or technology areas. This resource will effectively manage resources, schedule and quality of deliverables through the full project life cycle. This resource will also be required to adhere to the CBS delivery methodology, estimating models, risk and quality management approaches. This role will also contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery and preparing for transitional services to the application support teams.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of large, multiple related initiatives to ensure the overall program is closely aligned to and directly supports the achievement of the company's strategic objectives in a professional and successful way.
• Full Project life cycle ownership: Successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.
• Liaise with Steering committees, CTO, CFO, SVPs, VPs, Directors, project sponsors and strategic partners.
• Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
• Manage and lead project teams; 5+ on/off shore resources.
• Participate in defining success criteria, metrics, test and deployment management methodologies.
• Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
• Build and maintain relationships by engaging business sponsors, key stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure teams, and project teams to establish creditability, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
• Take accountability for project success including on-time, on-budget, high-quality targets. Ensure that the program goals/milestones are met and budgets are in accordance with financial goals and agreed budgets. Establish and track success criteria and metrics for the program and projects.
• Develop and define a structure and operating model for the project. Select and manage resources for project implementations to ensure that projects are successful and that consulting resources are cost-effective and value-driven.
• Interview, select, and manage key project team resources (internal and external).
• Provide the functional, technical and analytical abilities sufficient for conducting business analysis and project management of all areas within infrastructure including the data center, service delivery, and ongoing operations.
• Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization. Identify opportunities for improvement and independently lead implementation of changes.
• Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
• Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
• Communicate roles and responsibilities of the project team.
• Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources, and chairs the project management team meetings.
• Monitor staff performance and contribute to performance reviews.
• Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
• Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
• Demonstrate a functional acumen to understand how solutions meet client goals and align with industry best practices.
• Act as an advocate for Enterprise Technology Services in applying methodology, processes and tools in adopting best practices for project delivery.
• Manage project scope and manage project changes through the change management process.
• Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
• Manage process improvement initiatives assessing current and future state solutions contributing to improving the success of the project portfolio.
• Lead, review, edit, and manage contracts including Master Services Agreements and Statements of Work. Change Orders for all phases of the project lifecycle for external consultants. Ensure that work is operating under contract constraints, scope, terms and conditions.
• Act as an internal quality control check for the project; apply thorough stage gating throughout all phases of a project to driving consistency.
• Accountable for planning, reviewing and editing project deliverables and outcomes including confirming that scope is well documented and achievable.
• Lead the strategic development and design of principles, processes models and standards that address business requirements and goals. Act as a subject matter expert on various areas and an advocate in adopting new best practices and processes.
• Plan and manage the transitional services to the operations teams and the application support teams.
• Coordinate and plan the overall program including pre-requisite projects, parallel interfacing source system projects across the enterprise. This includes creation of an overall master plan and integrated program approach.
• Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving problems.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure we are receiving the best support and leveraging all available resources from our technology partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Skills/Experience Required:
• 5+ years of relevant technical and business project management experience.
• 5+ years proven success in a leadership role managing large projects in the data center or software license management or enterprise level IT infrastructure environments.
• Experience in building/managing project teams of 5 or more people.
• Successfully delivered large complexity projects with budgets exceeding $1 million.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports business & IT strategic objectives.
• Project delivery experience across all aspects of data centers, facilities, infrastructure technologies, and process integration including data center optimization, consolidation, maintenance, capacity planning, and refreshes.
• Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Operations including Data Center Facilities and Cabling, Network and Telecom, Storage and Backup, Servers and Virtualization, Operating Systems, Messaging, Web Technologies, Automation, Orchestration, Monitoring, Security, and Architecture.
• Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure delivery projects including enterprise database oriented projects, IT asset management, and software asset/license management.
• Expected to have in-depth specialized knowledge of general enterprise IT infrastructure systems, operational and engineering processes and practice.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management and the ITIL framework, have managed implementations or ongoing operations of Service Management processes.
• Understand the interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
• Well-developed leadership qualities enabling mentoring of others. Motivates team to success and gives recognition for results.
• Experience in SDLC Methodologies, such as Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM, ensures consistent use of common processes, tools, and methodologies across all projects.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
• Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish creditability, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.

• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes.
• Knowledge of resource and project planning tools such as CA Technologies Clarity PPM and MS Project.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
Technical and/or Project Management PMI or ITIL certification or equivalent is a plus.
