News Editor, Deals
Job Description:
The Wall Street Journal seeks an accomplished journalist to help lead our Deals team. This group of reporters is at the heart of the Journal’s coverage -- breaking huge deal scoops, telling tales of corporate intrigue, and delving into the pressing philosophical issues about how companies are run in the modern era. The position requires an experienced journalist to match the intensity of intellectual depth that these subjects require. Good judgment is also a must.
The ideal candidate will be able to edit breaking news and deal scoops -- and be able to publish quickly on multiple platforms. She or he will also have a confident editor's touch on enterprise stories that might roam everywhere from boardroom politics to the mechanics of initial public offerings. Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions, private equity, IPOs, and restructuring is a plus.
Applications should include a resume and cover letter.
