The Fleet Manager is directly responsible for properly and efficiently carrying out the administration, logistics, maintenance and transportation functions of Telemundo Studios vehicles. Responsible for implementing and providing direction and execution of NBCU Driver Safety Program and annual driver record process. Participates in cross functional safety committee and provide details for objective measurements of the risk assessment portion of the program. Supervises a 35-unit fleet. The individual in this position reports directly to the VP of Operations for Telemundo Studios.
Responsibilities
• Supervises all drivers that support the various productions, including hiring and assigning schedules
• Manages insurance policies and maintenance of all the vehicles, registrations and leasing contracts
• Keeps track of the routing logs for all drivers
• Checks with each department head to determine transportation requirements concerning personnel and production materials on a daily basis
• Prepares a breakdown list of transportation requirements
• Responsible for providing the number of vehicles required for each production day and the production department to which each vehicle is assigned
• Makes all driver assignments and checking drivers in and out
• Checks that each driver is properly licensed to operate the type of vehicle to which assigned
• Supervises the process of parking, loading and unloading all company vehicles
• Assures that all company vehicles are within proper and safe load limits, operationally safe, fueled and ready to roll
• Observes proper and adequate safety and protective procedure for personnel and equipment being loaded and transported in his or her care under prevailing highway and weather conditions
• Insures that transportation personnel do not attempt to work under any unsafe conditions, as specified by EHS and fire laws, or in violation of any other safety regulation practices
• Investigates accidents/incidents in which the vehicles are involved
• Evaluates all transportation needs for TLMD Studios
• Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all vehicles
• Keeps up to date with legislation, rulings and other developments that affect fleet operations. Maintains familiarity with DOT regulations.
• Develops total cost fleet safety and benchmark reporting and targets, including physical damage, worker's comp, and liability costs.
• Provides periodic system training and communication updates
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or equivalent
• Minimum of five year experience in a transportation environment.
• Minimum of three year of Supervisory experience.
• A combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• Fluency in English/Spanish
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web based applications.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies.
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
• Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
• Ability to work regular hours.

• Must be willing to travel, as needed and on weekends, with short notice.
