Responsibilities

The Senior Full Stack Engineer will be an integral part of an exciting new “Digital Transformation and Innovation” team being formed within Universal Pictures’ Technology Office.
The “Digital Transformation and Innovation” team works directly with business teams, and has transparency into the business impact driven by every commit. We are experimental, always hunting for incremental improvements to the business.
As the Senior Full Stack Engineer you will have a successful track record of breaking down complex ideas and delivering solutions. You will be collaborative subject matter expert within a lean, highly qualified team who will be responsible for developing prototypes. You will support the realization of digital products in a fast paced environment, setting ideas up for success using strict agile development disciplines.
The studio will depend on you to innovate, invent, develop and validate ideas, providing a path to scale your solutions. You will be multidisciplinary, inquisitive, can-do engineer that is able to architect client-side and server-side web application infrastructures using cloud services.
You like to experiment, strategically employing new technologies, frameworks and cloud product features that enable you to reach your goals and develop solutions quickly, and at the same time be adopted by other engineering groups or collaborators in the open-source community.
The position reports to the VP Technology Partnerships and has no direct reports.
Job Duties
Architect and deploy services in our AWS infrastructure
Prototype new technologies to benchmark, analyze, present and discuss design alternatives
Design and develop back-end solutions using node.js and express.
Develop single page applications (React preferred) consuming JSON-based RESTful APIs
Develop simple user-interfaces with frameworks suck as bootstrap.
Experience with unit testing and E2E test frameworks
Experience building applications using one or more MV* patterns (MVC, MVVM, etc.)
Excellent debugging and optimization skills
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
4-8 years of relevant experience in an agile environment
Proficiency in Python, Node.js (JavaScript) or equivalent
Experience developing with AWS infrastructure and deployment (RDS, EC2, Elastic BeanStalk, DynamoDB, API Gateway)
Experience with designing and building modern web applications using JS, HTML5, CSS3 and LESS/SASS/PostCSS
Experience with Angular, React or other modern UI frameworks
Self-motivated and effective in an end-to-end project ownership
Experience with microservices architectures
Experience with Facebook, Google, Twitter, Pinterest Marketing APIs is a plus
BA/BS degree in a STEM related field preferred, but experience and references will lead the conversation.
