Responsibilities
NBC Universal is looking for a researcher/consumer insights specialist to join the Strategic Insights & Research team. The Manager of Strategic Insights & Research is responsible for the development of insightful and actionable research used in setting sales strategy and sales positioning specifically for the movie studio, finance & insurance categories. He/she will work with other team members in the planning, creation and communication of trends and insights through data analysis and storytelling. Provide strategic sales support other internal stakeholders, specifically NBCU Ad Sales and Portfolio Network Partnerships/Integrated Marketing team.
• Serve as part of the “go-to” expert team for all things related to the movie studio, finance & insurance category research across NBCUniversal Ad Sales. Develop and deliver compelling stories around the movie studio, finance & insurance categories, including trends and insights in support of the Client Partnerships team and the NBCU Portfolio positioning.
• Research, analyze and report on changing consumer behaviors & media industry trends.
• Turn insights and trends into compelling & creative stories by leveraging primary and syndicated data sources.
• Respond to RFP’s and manage day to day client requests from start to finish with the support of a research Analyst.
• Plan, execute and evaluate primary research studies. Develop new and compelling research approaches to measure the success and KPIs of client campaigns across all platforms.
• Provide strategic sales positioning which differentiates the NBCU portfolio in the marketplace.
• Participate in projects involving creative insights and commercialization optimization across NBCUniversal
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years’ experience in TV/media research at a media brand, agency or supplier
• Successful candidate must be a strategic thinker with a strong interest in advertising/media research, consumer insights and interest in the key categories: movie studio, finance, and/or insurance.
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Focused on cultivating and growing strong internal and external relationships.
• Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Act proactively to anticipate and deliver on sales requests and client needs
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in TV and Digital applications and other syndicated research tools (Nielsen - NPower, AdViews, Lake 5, comScore and Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, YouGov, GfKMRI etc.)
• Knowledge of social media measurement, familiarity with ListenFirst, Nielsen Social a plus
• Primary research experience working with vendors and project management
• Previous management responsibilities required
• Capable of big data analyses, creative storytelling, data visualization and presentation development
