Overview and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with California local/state/federal elected officials, their staffs and department/agency personnel, managing relationships and handling responsibilities which extend to elected officials and personnel within other key States, developing and maintaining relationships with key residential, business and other community organizations and leaders and serving as liaison with film commission offices and assist with film permitting issues.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Assists as liaison with MPAA
• Assists in setting annual legislative strategy and priorities
• Assists in setting annual political contributions strategy and priorities
• Creates and implements community outreach plan, which will include regular involvement with Homeowner Associations, local business associations, non-profit organizations, creating a regular community newsletter and other forms of outreach
• Liaison with City of LA, County of LA and Sacramento
• Liaison with Film LA on permitting issues/ Trouble shoot on permitting issues
• Liaison with other States, as needed
• Monitors and recommend actions on legislation impacting Paramount’s businesses
• Responsible for the design and implementation of legislative and community programs which promote the company’s favorable public image
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 10-15 years experience working either in a government position, with a public relations/community relations firm, or similar experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required
