Pearson is seeking an Information Security Intern to be a contributing member in the area of information and application security engineering. Duties to include:
• Administration and execution of security-related tools (Qualys, Nessus, Wireshark, Burp, etc)
• Participation in risk-prioritization and remediation efforts for problems found during application security testing
• Conducting system and user audits to ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop software solutions to automate results aggregation and risk prioritization
In addition to the above duties, the intern candidate will be expected to dive in head-first in learning the entire Amazon Web Services ecosystem -- especially as it pertains to security and infrastructure management. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of being a quick learner with an ability to work independently if required.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
• Must be a current student pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Security Engineering or closely related field
• Familiarity with at least one programming language
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
• Desire to learn and expand knowledge in development languages, applications, technologies, and tools
• Intellectual horsepower and proven ability to quickly learn new processes and tools, business domains and technical applications
• Strong Written and Verbal skills to communicate with clarity and brevity to other professionals, including software developers, program management, product management, business analysts, etc.
