Project Manager, Newsroom
Job Description:
We are looking for a experienced Project Manager to support and manage the multiple project streams in the newsroom of The Wall Street Journal in NYC.
Responsibilities
• Develop and manage a detailed project plan to track progress of each project stream and tasks force
• Coordinate internal and external resources for the flawless execution of project streams and task force assignments
• Ensure that all project streams and task forces are on-time, within scope, time and within budget
• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Measure project progress and performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Manage the relationship with all stakeholders
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Assist with planning and execution of newsroom communications around project.
Requirements
• Working experience as a project administrator or project manager, preferable in the creative industry
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent personal and social skills
• Interested in media and journalism
• Analytical and abstract thinking
• Entrepreneurial- and solution-oriented thinking and acting
• Team player
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Solid business skills, solid understanding of management, budgeting and analysis
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PP, Excel), Google Docs, OSX Keynote and standard PM tools
