Responsibilities
NBCUniversal has an opening for an Engineer of Broadcast & On-Air Systems, Dry Creek, in the Operations and Technical Services group. The Engineer of Broadcast & On-Air Systems will be part of a dedicated 24x7 team tasked with supporting and maintaining this facility and operation, including immediately addressing on-air and critical issues as they arise.
• Responding to outage calls from operations team and lead initial response to any technical issues
• Working with internal subject matter experts and vendors to resolve problems as necessary
• Assisting with implementation of software upgrades and system expansion
• Performing periodic maintenance procedures such as system health checks and proactive system restarts
• Developing the skills to act as subject matter expert for a collection of technologies within the facility.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 2+ years of support in in a live broadcast environment
• The ideal candidate would have experience with the following broadcast systems:
• Master Control Automation Systems
• Graphics Branding Devices (Imagestore, Chyron)
• Video Server Systems (GVG, Omneon)
• Digital editing systems (Avid/Final Cut)
• Transcoding and delivery systems (Telestream, Signiant)
• Transmission Encoding/Decoding Systems (Motorola, Tandberg, Cisco)
• Network and storage infrastructure (Switches, Routers, SAN’s, etc.)
• IT Systems such as Servers, Workstations, Database
• Broadcast Infrastructure (Routers, Frame Sync’s, Intercom, etc.)

• Must be willing to work in Centennial, CO
• Flexibility with regard to schedule; ability to work a rotating shift schedule including overnight and weekends as required
Desired Characteristics
• Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting & analysis
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• VMware VCA/VCP certified desired
• CCNA/CCNP certified a plus
• Knowledge of Cisco UCS and VCE vBlock desirable
