Job Title VP Software Engineering
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
As VP Software Engineering, you will be responsible for enterprise wide Software Engineering including the database and data services, security, software deployment, engineering, architecture, and quality assurance. You should have a strong technical background with expertise in infrastructure, virtualization, network architecture, software development, highly scalable architecture, and agile development methodology.
II. Essential Job Functions

20 • Oversight of Development, and Quality Assurance teams
20 • Strategic planning for all aspects of technology, corporate and website
10 • CapEx and OpEx planning, contract/vendor relations, and asset inventory management
10 • Partnership with Product Management to support product development strategy
10 • Coordination with all business units including: Advertising Operations, Business Intelligence, Marketing, New Business/Monetization, and Sales
10 • Coordination with corporate parent involving corporate IT systems and third-party technology (e.g. analytics/tracking, advertising systems, yield management)
10 • Establish and ensure adherence to high availability SLA for both private and public systems
10 • Develop team talent, including training and career growth

Education:
• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required
Experience:
• 10+ years experience
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proven experience in high-traffic website engineering, architecture, and implementation of high availability infrastructure and automation
• Strong business acumen and exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Consumer-centric focus, both internally and externally
• Solid experience with virtualization and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum
• Familiarity with XP practices (TDD, pair programming, continuous integration, refactoring, continuous delivery)
• Positive, action oriented mindset
