Regional Sales Manager - Detroit
The USA TODAY NETWORK, a Gannett Co., Inc. company, is seeking a strategic, and results-oriented Regional Sales Manager responsible for achieving budgeted revenue and volume goals within an assigned region for all products, which includes (but is not limited) Detroit Media print publications, four other community newspapers and USA TODAY. The RSM is responsible for the development and execution of sales plans that drive volume and revenue for all assigned products. This role requires a sales-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, the ability to individually and collaboratively problem solve and able to nurture relationships with both internal and external partners within retail, hospitality and education segments.
Responsibilities:
• Identify traditional and non-traditional sales opportunities, prioritize and develop strategies to maximize volume and revenue potential.
• Meet directly with clients using the partnership selling approach with the purpose of selling new programs and expanding existing partnerships while maintaining existing business.
• Work collaboratively with the internal groups and NPS peers/directors in coordinating the execution of various local and regional sales & marketing initiatives to achieve the desired goals.
• Meet marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting sales volumes, revenues and expenses; oversee preparation of the annual sales budget; analyzes variances; initiates corrective actions.
Qualifications:
• College degree preferred or relevant experience in sales
• 3 to 5 years outside sales experience required; newspaper or closely related retail sales experience preferred; consumer marketing experience a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook); Basic understanding of database tools and use of SalesForce or similar sales management tool is a plus.
