The Audience Development and Channel Innovation team sits within Gannett’s consumer marketing organization. We lead the strategy development, testing and implementation of new digital marketing programs and ecommerce initiatives to drive audience, subscribers and consumer revenue growth across Gannett. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work at a large media company, be part of team that develops new channels for growth and interact with cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
As an intern, you be an integral part of the team, developing strategies to grow our social and mobile channels as a means of attracting a younger audience, capturing leads and acquiring subscribers. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in developing strategies to grow social and mobile channels as a means of attracting a younger audience, capturing leads and acquiring subscribers, in partnership with editorial and the local marketing teams.
• Manage the implementation of social and mobile programs, working directly with external vendors and internal technology teams and systems.
• Analyze the performance of marketing programs and generate insights for optimization through use of various analytics tools including, Localytics, Google Analytics, Omniture and other internal sources of data collection.
• Use data as a key means for developing new marketing strategies and implementing new tactics.
REQUIREMENTS
• Students must be classified as an undergraduate upper classman (2017 or 2018 graduates) or as a graduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Work experience or area of study related to consumer marketing, preferably digital marketing.
• Well-versed in social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, blogging, etc.
• Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data.
• Organized, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to complete projects independently.
• Innovative thinker with a passion for keeping on top of evolving trends and technologies in digital media.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the aptitude to explain detailed information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to forge relationships and work in a team environment.
• Strong sense of urgency with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to be nimble and scrappy.
