JOB SUMMARY
Conduct database/analytical projects that drive deeper customer knowledge and enhance data driven marketing decisions. That is, extract data and conduct business analysis against various ad hoc requests, leveraging innovative data mining and data aggregation skills. This technical role also includes research and UAT testing in support of ongoing development of OLAP tools created by our business partners in IT.
KEY ACTIVITIES/DELIVERABLES
• Administration/maintenance of Marketing Science data mart, including development and automation of data extracts and derivation of derived attributes for reporting and analysis
• Conduct new and/or highly complex data analytics/processes to provide timely insights on CRM, media/viewing behavior, customer acquisition and customer retention / collections. As appropriate, convert these to efficient ongoing processes.
• Provide insights for segmented marketing (college student, multicultural marketing, etc.) through Census/macroeconomic/DMA data aggregation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
• 7+ years’ experience in manipulation and analysis of large datasets using SQL, SAS, R, etc.
• 4+ years’ experience with process automation, scheduling software and/or database administration and solid understanding of relational database and data warehouse theory.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to make recommendations based on derived insights.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Understanding of report development/analysis using a BI tool such as Microstrategy or Tableau.
• Experience with enterprise grade RDMBS such as Netezza, Teradata, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of census and external demographic sources; multicultural knowledge is ideal
• Expertise in statistical data analyses and other quantitative business case/CLV analytics
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL; proficient in other desktop applications
• Competence in managing multiple projects with demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in deliverables.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative/ data analytics field. Master’s or MBA strongly preferred.
