Senior Director, Artist Marketing (New York/Los Angeles)
The Creator Services team is responsible for developing and maintaining the connective tissue between Spotify and the creator community. For the position of Senior Director, Artist Marketing, we seek an outstanding candidate with experience building out global music marketing campaigns to join our Artist Marketing team. This role sits within the Artist Marketing team, a team within the Creator Services vertical of Content. This team will collaborate heavily with Spotify’s Core Marketing teams which includes brand managers, communications designers, experiential marketing experts, film producers, copywriters, and social marketing managers.
This role will be based in either New York or Los Angeles and will report into the Global Head of Artist Marketing.
What You’ll Do
• Lead strategy, development, and execution for Artist Marketing campaigns in collaboration with the global creative and brand strategy team, local consumer marketing teams, and the broader organization.
• Leverage internal resources for in-house development while also managing agency partners when necessary.
• Oversee the strategy of artist campaigns and represent the Spotify Artist Marketing department externally attending meetings with label partners and managers when needed.
• Partner with various stakeholders across Spotify, including consumer marketing, product marketing, artist and label relations, PR, growth, tech, and product teams to ensure their buy-in and commitment to priority Artist Marketing campaigns.
• Effectively manage relationships with all external Spotify partners to ensure that we can win both established and emerging priority artists.
• Manage an internal team of managers and directors to ensure the effective execution of all artist marketing campaigns.
Who You Are
• You have 10+ years of experience building global marketing campaigns and are comfortable working cross-functionally within the larger Spotify organization as well as across geographies.
• You have strong team management experience and feel comfortable leading and coaching others.
• You have the ability to drive vision, align strategy, and coordinate execution components of Global Music Marketing campaigns.
• You have a passion for the Music Community and can be a representative of the Artist Marketing team to the rest of the Spotify organization and to external partners.
• You’re great at developing and leveraging organizational relationships (particularly within the Core Marketing function) to ensure alignment, support, efficiency and scale.
• Ability to travel when needed.
