POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will understand our products, prospect and client needs, market opportunities, and competitive threats and positioning, and apply this knowledge to build excitement that drives Blackboard Transact sales. The Senior Product Marketing Manager owns client needs definition, messaging, and informs marketing programs to create awareness, drive lead generation, and enable relevant sales teams.
The Senior Product Marketing Manager develops a messaging framework, solutions messaging, develops and understands the buyer’s journey and aligns effective content to it, coordinates with internal teams for sales enablement and sales tools and guides the market readiness launch process. Essential to this position is the ability to guide and work effectively with cross-functional teams, and the ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally. You’ll report to the Blackboard Transact Senior Director of Marketing, and collaborate closely with the Product Management, Product Development, and other members of the Marketing team.
The Senior Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for:
• Developing an in-depth understanding of the Blackboard Transact solutions’ target market, personas needs and pains, and associated buyer journey aligned with content.
• Collaborating across multiple departments to deliver market-ready solutions designed to inform and drive market and field activities.
• Assisting in developing, executing, and continually refining the Blackboard Transact marketing plan, focusing on awareness-building, lead generation, and sales enablement to attain key corporate metrics.
• Defining solution positioning and messaging, including identification of client and prospect needs, and competitive differentiators.
• Working with the field marketing team to communicate Blackboard’s proposition to appropriate personas for customers and prospects.
• Managing and developing the creation of effective sales tools and content assets including collateral, videos, white papers, case studies, and more.
• Being a reliable, thoughtful, effective voice for strategies and tactics to support the sales of portfolio solutions.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• 7-10 years of applicable B2B experience in the Education or Technology industry.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and marketing experience required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with senior levels of management within Blackboard and across external partners.
• Outstanding project management and coordination skills with ability to track multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables.
• Ability to translate client needs into business requirements and software features into client benefits.
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Idea-driven and creative, and can articulate ideas in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
