Job Introduction
Join BBC Worldwide as our new Senior Designer
– Television Centre
The Senior Designer is responsible for designing artwork and managing the team of designers who service BBC Worldwide’s global marketing campaigns, trade events, franchise brands as well as the BBC Worldwide masterbrand.
They must be able to conceptualize, design and execute creative solutions that consistently and clearly communicate concept, positioning and messaging through all touch points - including print, TV, email, social media, events, B2B and B2C marketing collateral and internal marketing, etc. This strategic, conceptual thinker will have a wide range of design capabilities and experience, with a solid background in visual communications, commercial art, print, digital, photography, video, branding and typography.
Role Responsibility
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for art direction and graphic design, seeing all projects through from concept, design, production, completion and delivery.
• Work closely and collaboratively with the creative team on all creative projects. Personally work on graphic development. Follow the company’s brand identity standards and guidelines.
• Interact and lead a creative team to develop creative concepts and executions.
• Work closely with production to keep all projects on track.
• Interprets project needs and develops concepts to suit specific guidelines while working within budget constraints. Provide accurate time and cost estimates for each tactic.
• Presents design work at various stages to stakeholders for review and final approval.
• Assist in the education and development of Graphic Designers.
• Interfaces with printers and various external vendors. Attends press checks and participates in photo shoots as needed.
• Completion of other tasks and duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills:
• Graphic design qualification to degree level
• Extensive experience in branding, typography, print and web design, working within an in-house creative
• Strong Photoshop; Illustrator; InDesign skills
• Knowledge of the print process and setting up design for print
• Knowledge of preparing for a photo shoot – pre and post production
• 360 degree brand project management
