The Director, Partnership Sales is responsible for selling all of the eSports Events assets including event naming rights, standard sponsorship packages, and on-line assets. The incumbent will engage new and existing strategic partners to drive business value to newly created eSports Events at various AEG Live and AEG Facilities venues, both in the United States and Internationally. The ideal candidate will have a digital background and have a solid understanding of the eSports space. This individual will be responsible for partnership strategy, business development and management of key relationships to ensure and bring value and profitability to AEG.
Essential Duties:
•Lead all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, customer assessment, analysis, strategies, best practices, ROI modeling, key industry research rollout, focus group information synthesis, competitive intelligence, marketing/sales proposals, and alignment to existing solutions
•Present business updates, new opportunities and industry-driven initiatives to the management team and sales leaders as required
•Lead in the development of client proposal, sales and contract negotiations through to the close of new or renewed business
•Share revenue/profit building ideas and opportunities with other corporate teams and sales leaders and sale teams as required
•Create sales plans which are scalable for local, regional and national programs
•Support the development of complex-targeting sponsorship plans to address clients’ strategic objectives and meet the Company’s needs
•Build prospective client list of qualified accounts within the team’s assignments
•Lead strategic planning sessions with all sales to uncover new opportunities
•Execute effective corporate sales calls and presentations promoting our unique sales and marketing platforms in order to meet established sales objectives
•Create, design, and execute multi-platform interactive sponsorships – digital and social media.
•History of successful development and packaging of branded digital content for sale, preferably as part of a larger offering mixed with traditional media.
•Passion for and understanding of the digital space, who has a finger on the pulse of social platform development and innovative technology integration.
Required Qualifications:
•A minimum education level of a Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)
•5+ years of related sales experience
•Knowledge of the esports space preferred
•Expertise in identifying opportunities and developing strategies
•Experience working with venue based sponsorships
•Must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
•Ability to identify opportunities, develop strategies and negotiate creative solutions
•Deep understanding of the advertising industry
•Exemplary problem solving, communication, and presentation skills
•Ability to synergize efforts across a variety of AEG Platforms and Business units
•Ability to coordinate the efforts of individuals from multiple business units to accomplish the goals of the company
•Must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
•Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Platform preferred
•Experience in sponsorship sales in a global role is a plus
