SUMMARY OF POSITION
• Manages all aspects of Information Technology and telecommunications for the Center- internally and externally including design, construction, and delivery of enterprise-wide focus on the technical elements of the system and infrastructure, inclusive of partnering technical companies
• Areas of focus include management of information technology, network infrastructure, telecommunication IT systems, IT hardware and equipment, and event/client internet requirements for HCC Hawai‘i offices, mainland and international sales division, shared tenant services and clients.
• Ensure leading edge and state of the art IT solutions through strategic planning, implementation, and delivery of seamless programs through superior service to in-house, tenants and clients. Responsibilities include the direction of all related trades both for staff and contractor. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Operations.
• Applies principles of our Mission Statement, Vision, HCC Values and ENCORE principles to role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the development, maintenance and operations of all computer systems, telecommunication systems, and information technology systems; inventory, accounting, equipment; and staff for the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
• Develops a strategic short and long term plan to ensure state of the art equipment programs/systems and IT & telecommunication best practices.
• Develop, aligns, and strategize HCC technology and communication with partners in enhancing HCC platform and programs.
• Market and create revenue generating opportunities for clients. Manages technical support function, LAN services and MIS systems.
• Manage all voice/data telecommunication systems (LAN lines, PBX, voicemail, public phones, HCC radio station/ hand radios, cellular phones.
• Manages technology resources such as network and personal computer connectivity.
• Manages all databases and libraries including systems security functions, designs, and systems documentation. Manages all equipment, software, and hardware providers to ensure compliance, delivery, and high level of performance
• Manages all functions of the Hawaii Convention Centers Business Center.
• Trains and support staff in the analysis of computer problems and designs solutions. Ensure efficient and accurate solutions.
• Research and recommend new techniques, equipment, processing methods; evaluates technical requirements for hardware/ software for IT to ensure efficient and leading edge opportunities.
• Utilizes current accounting methodology for acquiring new systems and equipment, by preparing layouts, plans specifications, and cost estimates of proposed modification projects. Inspects the work of all outside contractors when in progress and upon completion.
• Consult with contractors and others on construction projects in the Center.
• Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with functional practices, and policies with an emphasis on first class seamless customer service.
• Performs other related duties as may be required or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage department staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and/or business school with an emphasis in Information Systems Management or related field with certification;
• A minimum of (10) ten years of responsible work experience within the field of Information Technology performing the actual essential duties and responsibilities listed above, preferably within a supervisory capacity for (5) five years.
• Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.
