The Vice President of Financial Reporting works with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer in consolidation of AEG & its subsidiaries and preparation of various financial reports for senior management. Consolidated financial reports are prepared quarterly and annually while other various reports are prepared monthly and on ad-hoc basis. The position requires considerable knowledge of accounting principles, technical guidance and experience in the consolidation process of worldwide entities. In addition to preparing quarterly and annual financial reports, this position helps with short-term and long-term management financial planning and reporting, as well as other reporting for senior management and ownership.
The Vice President of Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing the AEG Global Partnerships and AEG China groups (or other delegated business units) from a financial, business, forecasting, and budgeting perspective.
The Vice President of Financial Reporting also oversees the implementation and training of users with our Insight financial application, as well as be a super-level user for consolidated, corporate and ad-hoc reporting. The Vice President of Financial Reporting will also be a high-level user in our JDEdwards financial application.
Essential Duties:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
1. Preparation and/or review of consolidated financial statements and management reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
2. Prepare annual consolidated audited financial statements, including footnotes and supplemental schedules. Review and assist stand-alone entity’s audited financial statement process.
3. Prepare and review audit and roll forward schedules. Coordinate interim and year-end audits related to consolidated entities.
4. Prepare and analyze ad-hoc reports through discussion with business unit leaders, and use of Insight and JDEdwards applications.
5. Conduct GAAP research and prepare memorandums on various technical topics, while working closely with worldwide finance leaders, senior management and auditors.
6. Implement new applicable GAAP accounting policies to all consolidated entities through design, coordination and execution.
7. Lead in implementing Insight, or other financial applications, to AEG & its subsidiaries and continued support.
8. Maintain entity and departmental accounting policies and procedures, and develop and implement improved accounting policies and procedures, if necessary.
9. Analyze, maintain and update cash flow projections for all consolidated entities for parent company and senior executive reporting.
10. Analyze and consolidate annual budgets for all entities.
11. Provide suggestions to management and supervisor on ways to implement efficiencies with daily processing and reporting activities.
12. Support AEG Global Partnerships and AEG China with all financial, business, forecasting and budgeting activities.
13. Support AEG Global Partnerships with revenue modeling and analysis.
14. Oversee analysis of expense trends for all business units within AEG, including assessing operational efficiencies, analyzing financial data, assisting in creating new benchmarking tools, and creating new reporting of efficiency recommendations.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
1. Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related area; CPA license required (Advanced Degree is Preferred)
2. 10+ years of financial leadership experience; including public accounting experience of at least 6 to 8 years required, Big 4 preferred; Preferred at least 5 - 7 years of public sector experience in a leadership role working with complex computer systems/financial applications (i.e. JDEdwards, Oracle, etc.) and in Consolidations.
3. Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
4. Proficient knowledge Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and ability to learn required business systems.
5. Proficient knowledge of, and adaptability to, accounting software systems.
6. Considerable understanding of accounting principles and accounting functions.
7. Hands-on experience working with multiple companies/legal entities with various fiscal year ends and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
8. Ability to communicate to finance and operational upper management.
9. Partner with internal and external clients in order to foster relationships and assist with inquiries.
10. Accuracy at all-times even when working under pressure in meeting deadlines.
11. Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
12. Must have excellent organizational skills.
