Responsibilities
The Director of Systems Services will lead a team of Systems Engineers and is responsible for the management and oversight of all Golf Channel content-based platforms, including ingest and playback systems, non-linear edit systems, storage systems, server systems, asset management and archive systems, network infrastructure, and related broadcast systems.
Job Duties
Lead the Systems Services team and take Engineering responsibility for all content systems
Manage and prioritize competing high profile projects with a focus on completing assignments
Delegate projects and tasks to team-members and follow up on progress
Distribute goals, conduct performance reviews, and take disciplinary action as necessary
Recruit, reward, and retain a strong team of Engineers, and foster a service oriented culture of teamwork and collaboration
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, client departments, and vendors
Research new technology and optimized workflows to keep Golf Channel on the cutting edge
Adhere to the defined Engineering process and design standards and Justify Engineering requests from client departments
Participate in project planning, capital planning and long range planning exercises
Execute urgent projects quickly utilizing available resources to achieve production goals
Rally support efforts, troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues and systemic problems
Manage, evaluate, and maintain broadcast network Infrastructure, IP-based technology, digital asset management, transcoding workflows, and custom software
Create smart and efficient workflows for cross platform, content-based media systems
Manage upgrade schedules, version compatibility, and testing environments for content-based systems, including hardware, software, and workstations
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
10 years experience in a broadcast engineering environment with a focus on digital media technology, content systems, and network infrastructure
Undergraduate degree in either Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, CIT or demonstrated equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous personnel management experience required, Engineering management preferred
Strong understanding of Avid and EVS systems required, ACSR Certifications preferred
Familiarity with Windows, MAC, and Unix/Linux OS, Server administration preferred
Proficient with network topology, routers, VLANs, switches, firewalls, and port management
Understanding of Software Engineering, Database Management, and Broadcast Protocols a plus
Experience in Research and Development and knowledge of Agile methodologies preferred
Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
