The Pearson K-12 education User Experience team is seeking a highly-motivated Senior User Experience Architect to conceive and develop exciting new opportunities to differentiate the Pearson K-12 learning experience in digital space. The Senior User Experience Architect will be responsible for creating information architecture, task flows, and interaction designs from mobile to web for Pearson Products legacy platforms and gadgets, working alongside a world class-in-house creative team who are responsible for product design solutions that span across all Pearson K-12 education product portfolio. S/he is to drive platform design initiatives, facilitating user experience design activities and workshops, and effectively presenting concepts and strategies to stakeholders and leadership to create innovative and intuitive experiences.

Essential Responsibilities
•Help to define the vision & identity for Pearson K-12 learning services legacy platforms and gadgets
•Work with product managers, technical leads, and product design leads, and research analytics teams to identify the user experience for legacy Pearson platforms and gadgets and articulate them in written requirements and specifications for use by internal and external teams
•Design, create and deliver UX Architecture design documentations in accordance with Pearson UX team’s design standards/platform HIG
•Contribute and assist in building and managing a platform & gadgets design pattern library that helps keep Pearson products unified and cohesive
•Effectively present UX team’s design concepts to senior leaders and large group situations to stakeholders, agency employees, and vendors
•Apply digital best practices to all assignments, including the definition of internal design UI standards within the mobile & web space
•Stay on the cutting edge of what’s new in user experience, identifying opportunities to and experimenting with applying new interaction patterns to Pearson legacy platforms and gadgets
•Give technical guidance and mentor senior and intermediate UX Architects
•Ensure design production is efficient and deliver at the highest quality in accordance with UX’s best practices and processes
•Contribute to the future direction of Pearson UX Design with the larger Creative Design and UX community
Qualifications and Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in User Centered Design/Human Centered Design, Communication Design or related discipline or equivalent experience preferred
•5+ years of experience in UX design
•Expert skills on Information Architecture, Interaction Design, UI workflows, and UI wireframes on multi-platforms
•Design experience in web, mobile, table, and/or desktop software
•Experience relying on analytics and data to shape UX decisions
•Proficiency with design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, OmniGraffle, and other design software)
•Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships
•A strong portfolio of innovative design work that demonstrates proficiency in information architecture and interaction design
