Job Title Production Editor - The Magnolia Journal
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
Works with Waco-based The Magnolia Journal creative team to negotiate and secure rights to all content, including creating and managing contracts, releases, and other necessary paperwork. Works with Meredith support staff to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments. Assists in managing budget and content inventory, including proper cataloging and archiving of content in Creative Library. Oversees intraoffice file management and story folder routing from initial content creation to ship-to-printer date. Assists creative team in securing and shipping products and props for photo shoots, including serving as liaison to DSM photo studio. Serves as primary editorial liaison in Des Moines for other corporate partners, including Production, Circulation, and the Creative Library.
II. Essential Job Functions

50 Manage all content rights, contracts, payments, and content archiving for 4 issues per year of The Magnolia Journal.
35 Manage intraoffice workflow, file routing, and troubleshooting with Des Moines-based departments, including Production, Creative Library, and Photo Studio.
15 Complete other duties as assigned.

Education:
Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years’ experience in managing workflow and complex office procedures, preferably in media. Experience working with outside clients helpful. Expert-level user of Microsoft Office and other business and project-management software.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic understanding of business procedures and accounting principles.
Basic understanding of print publication creative process.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Extreme attention to detail and consistency of work.
Ability to manage competing priorities and overlapping deadlines.
