DESCRIPTION:
The CBS Radio Internship is designed for students interested in careers in radio broadcasting. The objective is to provide students (Undergraduate and Graduate) with hands-on real world experience in the industry. Students will gain knowledge and experience in a variety of radio broadcast functions.
Student will study under CBS Radio Atlanta Chief Engineer, to gain experience with basic FCC Rules, safety practices when working with electronics/electricity. Interns will become familiar with the following elements regarding broadcast engineering.
• The basic flow of audio from the microphone to the transmitter/stream.
• Learn how MIS/IT applies to everyday broadcast engineering.
• Basic soldering skills and specialized tool usage.
• Live Sports broadcast transmission from the stadium to the transmitter.
• Basic Troubleshooting, using a logical approach to finding the problem.
Students will work with all departments based on the needs of the station.
This is a paid internship experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Interested individuals should work well independently as well as in a team atmosphere and have an interest in multi media & broadcasting.
Able to interact with the public in an enthusiastic and professional manner.
Students must receive college credit for participation in the program.
Able to understand electronic fundamentals
Able to climb ladders, lift 50 pounds.
Have a basic understanding of TCP/IP Networking
Familiar with Windows 7 thru Windows 10.
