The Penguin Young Readers Marketing department is looking for an Associate Manager to join their Adveritising and Consumer Marketing area. This person will work with the Associate Director to develop and execute consumer-based marketing strategy and plans that drive title and brand awareness.
The Associate Manager of Advertising and Consumer Marketing supports the Associate Director in developing and executing paid media and consumer initiatives across the Penguin Young Readers list. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
This job will oversee the booking, creation and execution of select consumer advertising campaigns and outlets as well as provide support to the Associate Director. This role is responsible for preparing weekly ad materials and routing creative content through the marketing department. Candidates must be able to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
Essential Functions:
• Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Adwords
• Familiarity with DoubleClick or similar advertising platform
• Media planning knowledge
• Experience forecasting, tracking and reporting on campaign metrics using benchmarks and ROI
Responsibilities:
• Project manage Google/YouTube advertising including implementation, creative and reporting
• Write effective copy for both trade and consumer advertising campaigns
• Train on analytics tools to inform outlets and competition prior to media planning
• Prepare weekly ad meeting materials for team review
• Point-person for Goodreads advertising including assets, booking and execution of campaigns
• Ensure delivery of consumer-facing advertising for select outlets such as Poptropica, Funbrain, and email newsletter advertising
• Manage trade advertising including placement, budget, copy, routing and submission
• Book and send all materials for regional holiday catalogs
• Maintain centralized grid of all advertising by title including outlets, budget and status of creative
• Coordinate with freelance designers and copywriters for delivery of assets and scheduling
• Act as a liaison between the marketing teams and agency or media contacts
• Explore new consumer outlets and maintain updated media kits for current outlets
• Aid in building of freelance team including designers, copywriters and copyeditors
• Perform post-mortem analysis on select campaigns and present to marketing teams
