We’re looking for a full-time Associate Manager, Social Media to help grow SELF’s presence on every major and emerging social media platform.
The ideal candidate would post content to SELF’s platforms with a primary focus on building traffic and an engaged community on Facebook. They’re obsessed with figuring out what people are sharing, liking, recommending and talking about online, and should have a deep and thorough understanding of what kind of content—written, visual, and video—inspires engagement and sharing on Facebook, Pinterest, SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, and other social networks.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Help manage SELF’s social channels including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, and Google + by creating content for each outlet.
• Create a strategy to maximize traffic potential across all platforms, especially on Facebook.
• Optimize headline, caption and image social positioning with writers and editors.
• Report on new trends, features, and developments as updates on social channels emerge.
• Work closely with the Associate Social Media Director and Social Media Editor to plan, manage, and execute social media campaigns and promotions.
• Brainstorm graphics, videos, illustrations, and other visuals to live on SELF’s social media channels.
• Live cover SELF brand events and pop culture happenings such as the Oscars, MTV Music Video Awards, and red carpet appearances with entire social team.
Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience in social media
• Ability to write and edit clear, creative, and clean copy in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interest in wellness, fitness, and health politics
• Intimate knowledge of the social media space, trends, and analytics platforms
• Very strong communication and collaboration skills
