Job Title VP Digital Content
The Vice President Digital Content is a key member of the executive team and oversees all content and creative services initiatives, both internal and external, across multiple platforms and formats to drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention and best-in-category customer satisfaction.
This individual will manage a complex environment of media and distributed consumer behavior by leveraging data and insights to drive superior results. Additionally, this individual will work closely with Marketing, Product and Technology to develop customer engagement strategies to support growth and next generation products for the leading digital food brands.
Essential Job Functions
• Create, lead, and execute all content strategies and implement tactical plans that meet and exceed company goals
• Provide thought-leadership at Meredith and within our industry in support of content strategy
• Develop deep understanding of our audiences to engage them with compelling content and a call to action
• Develop standards and best practices for content creation and distribution
• Partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Technology to develop engagement strategies that drive continued differentiation
• Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, training and managing all content and creative services functions including: support for advertising and sales programs, content seo, taxonomy, production and editorial to achieve company objectives of sales, growth, profitability and visibility while ensuring a consistent voice on behalf of the consumer.
• Discover data-driven insights that drive growth and work with product to align around consumer strategies
• Work closely with sales to develop and partner strategies and programs – native and proprietary content-led programs
• Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content – online, social, magazine, newsletters, mobile, video, etc.
• Map out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short and long term, determining which methods work for the brand and why.
• Development of a functional content calendar across all mediums that encompasses seasonal, new trends, demographic groups, psychographic groups and provides a base for marketing campaigns.
• Leverage market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a POV and deeper customer strategy.
• Coach, mentor and raise the team’s ability to deliver and exceed expectations while creating opportunities for succession talent
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Journalism degree is a plus.
Experience:
10 to 12 years in digital editorial with at least 3 years of management experience.
Must have experience developing digital content programs that have grown audiences significantly.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Deep understanding of content strategy across owned and operated properties and distributed platforms
• Great attention to detail in developing content and reviewing briefs to ensure brand consistency and innovation
• Ability to budget for projects that drive highest ROI and brand building goals
• Data driven with history of meeting and exceeding aggressive KPI’s
• Strong ability to work in a matrixed organization and influence across functional groups
• Great presentation skills that drive credibility and confidence internally and in-market.
