The Core Pipeline Department provides the infrastructure on which all other development and artist workflow runs including, but not limited to; render queueing and offline processing - both on-premise and in the cloud, asset and global data management, media creation and review.
You will work closely with a talented global team of R&D engineers, pipeline developers, and artists to extend and maintain ILM's award-winning production pipeline. You will develop primarily with Python but also leverage many open source tools and frameworks and interfaces using off-the-shelf and ILM custom software. You will be active in both new development projects and artist support.
Requirements:
Skills:
• Expert knowledge of python programming and the Linux environment
• Experience working with Revision Control Systems, preferably Perforce and Git
• Strong demonstrable experience in visual effects or animation, or related industries is a bonus but not essential - In fact if you have a love of problem solving and engineering clever solutions to unique challenges you will be right at home here.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with SQL databases such as Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience creating distributed, scalable systems that are fault tolerant and reliable.
• Experience architecting and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with industry standard tools like Maya, Katana, Nuke, Renderman, Arnold, Vray are a bonus but not required.
