Job Summary:
The HR Generalist plays an active role in carrying out the day to day operations of the HR department to ensure a consistent, high level delivery of HR services to all staff to include, but not limited to, full-cycle Talent Management, Employee and Labor Relations, Training and Development, to name a few. Perform administrative functions of the Human Resource Operation, consistent with AEG policies and practices, compliance with applicable Local, State and Federal laws.
Essential Functions:
• Follows AEG Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Maintains compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
• Management of day-to-day paperwork associated with employees' payroll and benefits. Ensuring regulatory compliance of all HR related functions
• Manage recruitment life-cycle process, including, but not limited to, Posting, Screening, and On-Boarding new candidates; Conducting new-hire orientations.
• Maintain and organize department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality. Ensuring compliance of all documents and administering record retention and purging of personnel files.
• Responds to inquiries from staff and managers regarding established Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices; including applicable CBA language.
• Works closely with HR team to ensure department and organizational compliance with new and ongoing laws, such as mandated trainings take place within required timeframe.
• Assist in the development of systems, processes, and procedures to improve upon the overall operation effectiveness and efficiency of the HR Department; Responsible for the preparation of associated written policies and procedures to document HR Operations
• Perform other administrative tasks/projects as needed
• Representing HR department and participating in various meetings, including, but not limited to, Departmental/Operations/Union meetings as needed
• Supervising Scheduling staff
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) Required
• Two - three (2-3) years of Human Resources experience
• Significant knowledge of recruitment, employee and labor relations, HRIS, payroll, and training and development; General knowledge of compensation and benefits.
• Experience working within Union Environments/CBA's
• Proven ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues in a professional manner.
• Excellent Written & Oral communications, comfortable with public speaking, organizational skills a must
• Advanced conflict resolution skills required
• Excellent computer skills; MS Office proficient; Familiar with HRIS programs/functionality; ADP
• Solid knowledge of personnel administration principles and practices
• Previous Supervisory experience
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Local Compliance
• Ability to build and maintain very effective relationships and work successfully as an influencer across organization lines at all levels; excellent customer service skills.
• Due to nature of business and entertainment industry, employees' may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company, including, nights, weekends, and in some cases, holidays.
• Travel:
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
• Bilingual: Spanish preferred
• Knowledge of ABI/Master Mind strongly preferred
• Some familiarity with the Hospitality/ Entertainment Industry
