Job Description
The Huffington Post seeks a passionate editor to oversee its front page and distributed strategy and amplify the site’s voice. Candidates will have excellent news judgment and demonstrated talent with headline writing and story packaging in a fast-paced environment. They will be excellent communicators and have experience working with news, features, and video departments on story angles and distribution strategies. Experience in digital journalism, working across all platforms, is a must, as is a fluency with data, analytics and audience development tools. A passion for management, and a talent for organization are both essential. This position is based in New York City and reports to the Editor in Chief.
Qualifications
•7+ years of newsroom experience, at least 2 of those focused on packaging and promoting content for both destination homepage and distributed platforms
•Ability to interpret data and analytics to inform coverage decisions and meet goals
•Newsroom leader with experience managing a team of 10+ people
•Passion for breaking news and generally excellent news judgment
•Innate understanding of and talent for tabloid-style headline/package writing
•Facility with digital newsroom analytics and tools and skill with incorporating audience information into programming decisions
•Excellent communication skills and history of working with editors to help stories find their best and largest audiences
