There's a saying in the Gola Rainforest of West Africa; ‘He who brings cola brings life’. Cola isn't new there. For centuries people have chewed cola nuts picked from the rainforest for energy and shared them to celebrate friendship. Surprisingly the rest of the world drinks about 1.9 billion colas a day — over a million a minute. Even more surprising is that the West African people who discovered the magical properties of the cola nut don’t make a cent from the world’s most popular fizzy drink. We thought it was about time someone did something about that. So we made Karma Cola.
Karma Cola sends back 3p from every bottle sold to the cola farmers we work with in Sierra Leone.
The company is young, growing quickly and seeing significant returns, not only in sales, but in the humanitarian work done by the Karma Cola Foundation. We grew by 120% in the UK last year. As such, we're looking for a talented, bright and energetic Brand Manager with a consumer marketing background, expertise in managing digital/social channels and experience in growing challenger brands in a competitive environment.
You will work alongside the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop activity that generates brand awareness, consumer demand and engagement as well as support sales. Your primary role will be developing and implementing consumer campaigns and brand initiatives across both digital/social and physical touchpoints.
As we are a young brand with digital natives (aka millennials) as our primary audience, you will need to demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of the way they consume media and an ability to translate it into integrated campaigns. This is a very hands on role requiring both strong planning skills with an ability to roll up your sleeves and do it.
Overall, this is a challenging and rewarding role with a potential to grow with the growth of the business.
