JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President National Media Sales will lead and oversee the National Sales team across the Central Division of Spectrum Reach. Working in close partnership with the Regional Vice Presidents, this key executive will conceptualize and execute on national sales and sponsorship programs that deliver revenue targets and maximize profit margins. The VP, National Sales will develop short and long-term sales strategies, overseeing the development and integration of new account acquisition and maintain and enhance current National Sales Client Partners.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the financial performance of the National Team within the region to include revenue, expenses, cash flow, and capital.
• Utilize assets in order to build national sales programs that go beyond traditional packages.
• Build and execute on strategies and initiatives that drive positive sales results and ensure success in achieving company’s business objectives.
• Develop a high-energy sales culture that fosters success, enthusiasm, and a winning atmosphere.
• Recruit, select, and retain high-end talent to serve in the leadership positions of the region.
• Engage in leadership development activities that promote the effectiveness of the national management team.
• Oversee employee development initiatives designed to grow the knowledge, skills, and abilities of all employees in the region.
• Engage in effective performance management techniques and practices in managing all human resources.
• Research customer requirements and expectations and include responses and solutions in product planning and marketing strategy.
• Oversee the design and execution of an effective marketing strategy that supports the financial targets of the region.
• Identify and engage in appropriate community relations activities to promote good corporate citizenship.
• Oversee the enforcement of all compliance policies to include SOX, HR policy, and legal compliance.
• Direct entire national business unit/area, setting reasonable, achievable, but “stretch” expectations, with responsibility for resource allocation, including budget, training and personnel.
• Guide the work efforts and management of National Sales Managers/Team Leaders and may occasionally be directly involved in generating revenue; responsibility includes combined performance of the team as well as the individual performance of team members.
• Maintain effective communications with executive team and managers across the organization to ensure National Sales Plan is executed and/or modified as needed and that revenues goals are achieved.
REQUIREMENTS
• 10+ years in related media management and/or advertising sales experience, with a proven successful track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
• A minimum of 6+ years each of National Sales and Sales leadership experience with preferably 8+ in both.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
• A strong track record of developing and leading high performing teams that consistently meet and exceed their short and long term goals and objectives
• Strong influencer with experience working with a geographically distributed sales team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record within Company required standards, and auto insurance.
• Frequent travel is a necessity in the role.
• Advanced degree, such as a MBA, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
