Job Title Business Manager
I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
The Business Manager prepares profit flash, forecasts, budgets and strategic plans, analytical studies and other financial reports in accordance with accounting principles, practices and procedures as established by the Corporation and the Publishing Group. In addition, the Business Manager:
• Resolves problems and answers questions from external/internal customers that relate to accounting methods or systems.
• Coordinates with departmental directors regarding monthly spending and annual budget preparation.
• Advises management of economic impact of operating decisions.

Prepares flash, forecast, operating budgets, and strategic plans. Communicates results to management.

Prepares and approves balance sheet reconciliations for respective profit centers.

Prepares analysis for Management regarding economic impact of operating decisions. Reviews alternative courses of action that reduce costs or increase revenues.

Develops and maintains procedures to ensure accurate financial statement preparation and safeguarding of company assets.

Performs special projects and duties as assigned.

Prepares analysis related to development and administration of payroll/incentive plans.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent training and/or experience. CPA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum three years of experience in financial analysis and accounting.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of PC spreadsheet applications (Excel); preferred knowledge of Oracle.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with potentially conflicting deadlines.
