The News Journal, a Gannett company, is in search of a talented college student looking for an enriching paid marketing internship. As part of the Gannett team, you will develop and apply skills and experiences to support our Consumer Marketing team. The purpose of the internship experience is to provide opportunities where college (undergrad and grad) students can develop, grow and become the next generation of talent for Gannett. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with identification of trending stories and promotion on social media.
• Research deals and contact area businesses for partnerships for the Insider membership program. Post extra content and quizzes.
• Produce Facebook Live segments at summer events.
• Research event opportunities, focusing on the Delaware Beach areas.
• Develop campaigns to increase downloads of our apps.
• Generate ideas to reach our growth audiences.
• Develop new ideas to drive sales at sporting events.
• Work on campaign to promote virtual reality content and integration into events.
• Lead generation and management.
• Attend area events to identify new activation strategies.
• Assist with the coordination and execution of local market events including set-up, lead generation, engagement and breakdown.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree-seeking student currently enrolled at a college or university with a GPA of at least 3.0.
• Preferred Majors: Advertising, Marketing, Communications, and Business Administration.
• Previous internship experience a plus.
• Well organized, detail oriented, adaptable and flexible.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and oral and written communication skills.
• Technical skills required for multiple aspects of the role. Ideal candidate will possess strong Office, PC skills and social media knowledge.
