The role will provide operational management for all activities in the Global Integration & Data team within the EA function in the Technology workstream, accountable for the day to day running of the Global Integration & Data team oversight and troubleshooting for all ongoing tasks, including interaction with multiple projects that this team serves. The Program Manager will also create detailed project plans and provision of project management expertise to ensure that programmes initiated within the team are on-time and to-budget.
The role holder will be expected to partner with the central PMO team, ensuring that Technology is represented at cross functional meetings and correct programme templates/requirements are used by the Technology workstream.
The role will report to the Pearson Director of Program Management and will work closely with the project management peers in other Pearson teams.
Key Deliverables
• Work closely with the Director of Program Management to ensure the Global Integration & Data team is working on target on all planned tasks
• Accountable for the development and maintenance of the Integration, API and Data platform program plan. The holistic technology plan will include (but will not be limited to) the delivery of items such as;
• The provision of a suitable infrastructure software hosting solution (for both on premise and cloud-hosted technologies),
• The end-user technology strategy including the oversight of deployment of required desktop applications.
• The Program testing approach, strategy, plans, scripts and the testing execution (including reporting) for areas which Pearson retain responsibility.
• The development and execution of an information security architecture and strategy for integration with SAAS components as well as on premise technologies.
• The design, build and test of the interfaces to the Integration and Data platforms.
• Management of program risks and issues which originated from or must be resolved by the Technology Workstream
• Responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the inter-dependencies and open issues for Global Integration & Data Team tech leads and developers working on delivering solutions to Pearson projects, liaising with managers on those projects where necessary.
• Running Integration team daily scrums and troubleshooting non-technical issues that arise and ensuring other technical blockers are assigned to an appropriate owner for resolution.
• Accountable for setting deadlines, evaluation of milestones, assignment of responsibilities, and sign off on key Integration and Data programme deliverables after consultation on requirements with the Director of Integration and Director of Data resplly
• Accountable for delivering accurate status reports to the Enterprise Architecture and Core Platforms teams on a regular basis and support and input into any reporting to steering committees or the CPEA leadership team as required
• Responsible as a team leader for the management of key stakeholders throughout the integration programme and across other projects to support any implementation and other tasks deliverable by the Integration team.
• Assisting the VP and Directors within the Global Integration & Data team in preparing Budgets, Business cases and tracking the Integration Team’s actual costs, Forecast etc..
• Support in managing the engagement of senior stakeholders for Integration within Pearson Technology, helping to prepare key communications material or escalating risks and issues in a timely fashion for resolution.
• Assisting the Directors within the Global Integration & Data Team with all commercial documents to ensure that the team’s requirements for external contractors are satisfied and that commercial responsibilities are met
• Assisting the VP in tracking and managing a team of contractors to deliver planned integration services and platform solutions.
Workstream responsibilities
• Plans and oversees the day-to-day running of workstream/team and delivery of milestones on time.
• Ensure best practise management of the team, including regular feedback and effective and supportive people management (though no direct line management is required in this role)
• Work supportively and collaboratively with other teams
• Build relationships and trust with key stakeholder to support programme delivery and collaborative approaches where appropriate
• Communicate in line with communications and programme plans with team and wider stakeholders.

Qualifications
Essential Skills /Experience
• Experience managing complex projects or programs and delivering successfully
• Experience working with a distributed team of developers, including off-shore contractors
• Direct experience in managing complex Budgets
• Previous demonstrable experience of working on a Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain or HR transformation or improvement project would be beneficial
• Prince 2 or MSP qualified
