DESCRIPTION:
The Manager of Promotional Planning and Scheduling will be involved in formulating the company’s on-air promotional strategy and will be in charge of scheduling all promotional spots on Smithsonian Networks’ US channel and expanding number of international channels.
II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Schedule promos on US channel and time out logs for air (30%)
• Schedule promos on international channels and time our logs for air (25%)
• Participate in promotional planning meetings (20%)
• Perform interstitial duties such as creating tags, entering inventory in scheduling system, and opening jobs for spots to be prepared for air (15%)
• Additional ad hoc projects as needed (10%)
The Manager of Promotional Planning and Scheduling is responsible contributing insightful ideas for on-air promotional strategy and accurately scheduling all promotional spots on Smithsonian Networks’ domestic and international channels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree
• 3-5 years of promotional planning and scheduling experience in the television industry
• Detail oriented
• Self-motivated team player
• Strong organization skills
• Excellent communication
• Ability to master multiple software programs
