Responsibilities
Equipment maintenance and repair
Equipment malfunction - troubleshoot, diagnose and repair and/or replace broadcast equipment.
Provides operational support to News, Creative Services and other departments as needed.
Maintains a clean workshop environment.
Preventative maintenance on all equipment (PM).
Assists with new equipment integration.
Demonstrated understanding of network and server technologies including IP routing and switching technology.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years’ experience as Maintenance Technician, Operations Technician or similar position at a mid to large market news station.
Demonstrated ability in component level troubleshooting, large project conception and implementation and customer focused problem solving.
Working knowledge of both digital and analog video/audio systems, RF and ENG microwave, field and studio cameras and decks.
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights.
Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift
Must be able to process large amounts of information, analyze this information and make sound decisions sometimes under intense deadline pressure (in cases of breaking news).
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Other duties as deemed necessary

Must be willing to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends) and report to work in emergencies depending upon news coverage when necessary
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
