Responsibilities
• Help organize hosting infrastructure needs for Clinical Assessment application development teams including server and resource requisition, system monitoring, backups and disaster recovery
• Facilitate use of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for new project infrastructure or moves from existing infrastructure
• Work with DevOps and Software Development teams to gather requirements for and setup AWS infrastructure
• Help maintain domain names, SSL certificates and server infrastructure information
• Facilitate application deployments by working with the Q-global and Q-interactive teams in obtaining deployment plans, entering tickets for production and pre-production releases, attending Control Access Board (CAB) meetings for approvals, and organizing application and database support for releases
• Act as liaison between Clinical Assessment and Pearson Technology Services or other hosting infrastructure or shared services organizations
• Facilitate development of Service Level Agreements, IT Security Plans, Escalation Plans, and Communication Plans
• Help respond to customer security questionnaires and other data security needs
• Help with regulatory and compliance issues related to HIPAA, FERPA, EU and other country, state, or province based regulations or certifications
• Provide guidance to Clinical Assessment teams for Pearson data security policies and procedures
• Facilitate load testing, application vulnerability testing, and infrastructure vulnerability testing services for Clinical Assessment application development teams
Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems but will consider experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of five years experience with IT operations, software development, and/or hosting infrastructure
• Strong customer orientation, both internally and externally
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Analytical thinker; good problem-solving skills
• Organized; project management skills
• Self-motivated/self-starter
• Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment
• Adept using office productivity tools like MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Acrobat, Google Docs, Google Hangout, Google Chat, JoinMe, Webex
• Conversant with the software development life cycle, data security, security testing, defect tracking systems, and source control systems
• Knowledgeable about hosting infrastructure systems such as servers, firewalls, load balancers, network, certificates, DNS
• Knowledgeable about Amazon Web Services including EC2, S3, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, Elastic Load Balancing, Route 53
