Financial Analyst – Operational Sales & Marketing
Role
The role is based in the Operations Finance team in Peterborough, reporting to the Head of Finance – Operational Sales & Marketing.
The principle responsibilities of the role are the accounting for subscriptions & circulation volumes, revenues and marketing costs.
Responsibilities
Accounting
• Preparation of weekly & monthly reporting for subscriptions & circulation volumes, revenues and marketing costs
• Completion of relevant commentary and variance analysis for execs, management and London Finance
• Work closely with the Sales & Marketing team in London to ensure PO’s are processed in an accurate and timely manner
• Responsibility of Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) balance sheet accounts (monitoring and reconciling of balances) with the Sales & Marketing team in London
• Regular investigation of GRNI balances and blocked invoices
• Liaising with Accounts Payable department to resolve all payment and invoice queries, and supplier management
• Relevant communications with Group Reporting and Sales & Marketing Finance team in London
Other duties
• Monitoring of subscription billing exception reports and fraud reporting, highlighting exceptions immediately
• Work closely with Technology and Sales & Marketing to ensure all operational issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner
• Continuous review of financial information to ensure it is appropriate and relevant
• Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Finance team in London to ensure alignment and efficiencies across the board
• Ad hoc tasks as required
Technical skill requirement
• Actively studying ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
• Commercially aware coupled with strong accounting skills
• Rigorous analytical skills with good attention to detail
• Strong excel skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven logistical and organisation skills
• Advanced SAP & TM1 knowledge

• Confident and professional manner
• Willingness to challenge existing practice and implement process improvement
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
