Context
This is a data-oriented team which sits within Solution Delivery in Technology Operations. The objective of the team is to statistically model out resource demand across different Tech Ops teams, identify bottlenecks in workflow, reengineer business processes to improve efficiency and drive data-based decision making in operational planning.
Key accountabilities
• identify, collect and migrate data to/from a range of internal and external systems
• manipulate and link different data sets as required
• interpret and apply the organisations data and information security standards, policies and procedures to data management activities
• collect and compile data from different sources
• perform database queries across multiple tables to extract data for analysis
• perform routine statistical analyses and ad-hoc queries
• use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
• assist production of performance dashboards and reports
• assist with data quality checking and cleansing
• apply the tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation and presentation
• assist with the production of a range of ad-hoc and standard data analysis reports
• summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders making recommendations
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong Interest in mathematics and data science
• Detailed orientated approach to tasks with focus on accuracy and ability to add insights
• Good knowledge of excel is essential
• Enthusiastic approach to problem solving
Person specification
The position would suit a highly motivated problem-solver who would like to pursue a career within a large international organisation. Typical roles that this apprenticeship could potentially develop into include analyst, data scientist or data modeller.
Data Analyst Apprenticeship standard – Level 4 (Higher)
During the Apprenticeship, the post holder will work towards gaining a Higher Level 4 Data Analyst qualification, through work based learning.
As part of the training for this apprenticeship you'll complete:
• EMC: Data Science Associate qualification
• Data Analysis Concepts Knowledge Module
• Level 2 Functional Skills in English and mathematics
