USA TODAY NETWORK is one of the top 20 digital companies in the country, sharing the list with Google, Facebook, and Amazon. And we have over 100 million unique visitors a month, which is more than Buzzfeed, Yahoo News, and Huffington Post. Because our team consists of over 110 local properties with USA TODAY at the helm, you’ll have the luxury of living in a community you love while making a national impact.
The USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a highly-skilled, front-end capable designer, capable of quickly producing prototypes and translating UX ideas into action. The candidate should bring a sense of imagination and play, along with a strong editing eye for tasteful interactions. The Design Technologist will be one of the major touch points with our software engineering team.
We’re transforming the ways in which information is gathered, experienced, and shared. Imagine a world where reading, watching, and listening are not passive acts... where the distance between journalist and consumer evaporates. Our mission is to empower communities to connect, act, and thrive.
You'll be joining a bright and talented product organization that's dedicated to making data-informed decisions. We need your expertise as we craft new ways to unleash and leverage the diverse and compelling content created by more than 4,000 journalists. Help us ensure we’re solving the right problems and conducting the right experiments, as we lead with digital and integrate it into every part of our business.
User experience is key and the ideal candidate needs to understand people -- who they are, how they interact with media of all types, and what our audience expects from our suite of products. The ideal candidate should think strategically about how to release features in small pieces and regularly looks for opportunities to validate their ideas with multivariate experimentation.
We’re open to candidates based in Washington, D.C., New York City and McLean, Virginia (at Gannett HQ).
