Responsibilities
The Sales Planner is primarily responsible for the development of strategic sales proposals that meet both the advertiser and network’s needs.
Responsibilities:
Proposal Creation:
Lead in the creation of proposals for incoming RFPs by creating media plans to meet advertiser and category objectives
Address client needs while highlighting the value and capabilities of NBC
Build media plans and schedule units based on inventory avails
Prepare and revise Upfront and Scatter sales plans that maximize the use of inventory while fulfilling agency/client requirements
Assist with pricing and analyzing of upfront and scatter packages at the opportunity level with Strategic Planning and Ad Sales Finance
Collaborate and brainstorm with the team in the creation of proactive and strategic proposals
Ensure media plans include accurate pricing and utilize approved products and available inventory and adhere to defined business processes to ensure optimal program performance
Complete additional projects as directed by Strategic Planning and Ad Sales
Finance Management
Assist in the coordination of sales marketing materials
Proposal Maintenance:
Work closely with Sales and Commercial Ops to manage all preemptions and programming changes - recommend schedules according to availability, generate flow charts to reflect all changes, cancellation option and expansion options
Work closely with Inventory Managers to coordinate plan approvals and ADU schedules
Client Service:
Develop strong understanding of our products and solutions for advertisers
Assist in the creation of effective go to market tools for the sales team
Establish relationships with agency and advertiser partners
Respond to Sales requests about inventory, ad products, creative specifications, and research
Liaise with Sales, Strategic Planning, Ad Sales Finance, Commercial Ops, and Marketing to ensure sold schedules run
Qualifications/Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
must have related experience in media sales or buying in an entry level role
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research
Strong knowledge of media math and audience metrics
