EMEA Production Manager – London

Due to an internal move, a new opportunity has become available, working from our EMEA HQ in London, for an EMEA Production Manager.
This role is responsible for the EMEA Production function at McGraw-Hill Education and encompasses a large team spread across 3 European locations. You will be responsible for delivering new products on time and in budget while maintaining the highest levels of quality.
Main responsibilities include -
• Monitoring the complete production lifecycle – working with freelancers, typesetters, printers and cover designers – ensuring that all of our digital and print projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.
• Leading, managing and developing the regional production teams in order to meet changing business needs, including new processes and initiatives.
• Increasing technical knowledge so you are able to keep the company abreast of developments with reference to authoring platforms, content management, archiving, e-file formats and any other relevant McGraw-Hill Education products.
• Maintaining a good base of suppliers so that we have good relationships and services, from our regular partners, in place.
• Ensuring the publication of all content is to budget, being constantly aware of cost reduction, driving costs down and minimizing increases. Negotiate new contracts for cost savings as appropriate.
The successful Production Manager will be able demonstrate strong leadership qualities and competencies needed to manager a disperse team. Problem solving skills is a must as is the ability to communicate at all levels.
The successful candidate will have:
• previous leadership experience in a prepress and digital/print production environment
• experience of change management and the ability to adapt to changes in business opportunities and business priorities
• cost management expertise
• experience of working with an ERP system is a definite asset
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
