Responsibilities
The role is part of the head-office Controllership function located in Universal City, Los Angeles. It resides with global home entertainment – $1.5bn revenue generating business.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the key worldwide quarter close and financial reporting processes, foreign exchange reporting, daily distribution feed and master data maintenance. This person would have an accounting or finance degree. The person should have strong technical knowledge with a desire to obtain the CPA designation. A qualified candidate must be able to multi-task and balance priorities on competing initiatives. This position reports to the Senior Financial Analyst of Global Controllership, supports the Director of Global Controllership and will work closely with the FP&A team and international subsidiaries.
Essential Job Functions:
Supporting the Controllership team with monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparation of journal entries and corporate data requests. This includes working closely with our Operating Companies both domestic and international
Reconcile and analyze movements in key balance sheet areas including preparation of quarterly balance sheet review package
Managing ad hoc data requests across various businesses. Film accounting / participations and residuals review, analysis & standardization across all Operating Companies.
Assist with analysis of quarterly policy reviews which includes returns rates, obsolescence and delivery lag by working closely with International teams and territories.
Working closely with the Film Group colleagues and international business teams to drive simplification, process improvement and standardization across the group
Monitor daily distribution feeds across all OpCos and if necessary collaborate with Operating Companies and IT to identify error resolution. In addition to oversight of master data maintenance which is of critical importance to our business.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Desired Characteristics:
Excellent excel, financial analytical skills are essential
Work experience in Accounting or Finance
Knowledge of Business Warehouse / SAP a significant advantage
Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and high standards in quality and accurate reporting
Strong candidates will be well organized and able to prioritize multiple and competing priorities
Demonstrated strong communication skills and a pro-active approach to building working relationships in a matrix environment
