Job Title Temporary News Editor
Edits and archives daily general assignments and spot news stories. Gather material from staff photographers and creative services. Coordinate with operations to make sure all material is ready for air. Other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to work flexible hours.
Essential Job Functions
60% - Edit and archives daily general assignments and spot news stories
20% - Assembles voice track, video, and music which results in compelling on-air content
10% - Ingest programs and promos through media client into servers. Also contribute video when requested to outside media agencies such as News path and CNN
10% - Organize material and coordinate with all stations to ensure news content are completed in a timely manner.
Education:
Four year college degree in Media or Broadcasting preferred, or equivalent training and/or work experience
Experience:
One year experience editing for a media company is strongly preferred
6 months of experience with AVID editing equipment is required
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment under tight deadlines
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Must be able to complete projects with minimal supervision
